ERay, E-Ray, eRay, Eray... what's in a name?

When I decided to embark on this adventure of starting an ERay website, Instagram (@awdcorvette), and YouTube channel (coming soon), I carefully considered the spelling I would use. Officially, GM spells it E-Ray. I know that, but as I searched around the Internet, I found that other than professional automotive journalists, more people tend to omit the hyphen, and just type ERay. I've also seen eRay, but that is less common.

Many software programs seem to autocorrect to Eray, and that's also very common because people tend to do whatever is easiest, but I like the capital "R" enough to go back and correct the autocorrect whenever necessary. Similarly, I use AWDCorvette instead of AWDcorvette. The capital "C" is pretty important.

The issue, of course, is that if I'm doing all this work on social media channels, I want it to be seen by as many people as possible. It needs to be found when someone searches online for information about the quickest and first AWD (all-wheel drive) production Corvette in history.

Since it seems most people will type it the easiest way by omitting the hyphen, that's the way I'm going to do it too. I'm not a SEO (search engine optimization) expert, so I'm hoping I've made the right choice. But there also another reason to type it "ERay". That's what the badge on the side of the car says!

I actually don't know for sure which of those three options I'm getting, so it will be a fun surprise when I take delivery of my ERay later this year. Assuming the ERay emblem follows the color of the Exterior Badge Package I selected, I know it won't be the first one because I didn't pick chrome. Instead, it will be one of the "carbon flash" (GM-speak for black metallic) badges, but I haven't been able to figure out what determines if I'll get the one with the blue background or light gray.

Since my ERay order is already in the GM Workbench ordering system and will be proceeding into production at BGA (Bowling Green Assembly plant in Bowling Green, KY) as soon as they start building ERay Corvettes, I don't want to change it (even though I still could), so I'm just going to wait and see what I get on delivery day. That'll be a great day, and I'll be happy with either!

I do know that my ERay will have both of the following:

2024 Corvette ERay door sill

It is funny how much time I've spent on my posts online debating E-ray.. ERAY.. ERay.. Eray.. E-Ray.. lol. Love the idea for the blog/website to follow along with your experiences and I look forward to more content!

That's interesting because I wondered if I was the only one who debated that! And thank you. Lots more Corvette content on the way... especially after I get my ERay! :-)
