Veterans Day, C8 Corvettes, and a WWII Hangar

Today and tomorrow are special days. Veterans Day, on November 11th, is the federal holiday almost everybody knows about — the day we celebrate those who've sacrificed for our country by serving in the armed forces. Everyone who's served honorably deserves to be rewarded, and it's a pretty good time in history to be a military veteran. People, in general, seem to appreciate what only a relatively small group has done for this country.

My Father, Prince, and John Lennon

"Little Red Corvette" Prince and John Lennon have several things in common with my father, who would have loved to see my Corvette. All three were musicians. All three enjoyed cars, but I'd bet only one changed his own oil. Two were famous world-wide, and two would have had birthdays today if they were still alive. This a historic story about Prince and a remembrance of my dear departed father.

Corvette ERay Cutaway Car

These are photos of a Corvette ERay without the other structures that normally hide the inner workings. The engineering that went into this is vast, and the result is amazing! The chassis is a work of art, supporting massive wheels and tires, and housing a compact 160 hp electric motor, 1.9 kWh battery pack, and all the associated control and cooling hardware to keep it all running. A Long and Storied Racing Career

This ring belonged to a famous race car driver who will turn 96 years old in December. The last time he drove in a race was in the 2018 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West at the age of 90, making him the oldest driver ever to start a NASCAR sanctioned race! He won the series' 1986 championship and is also a four-time winner in Grand National competition. But there's so much more...
