For the unitiated, WOT is a common abbreviation for "Wide Open Throttle" and I waited until after the redline on my tachometer changed to do that for the first time. The standard break-in period for a C8 Corvette — including the ERay — is 500 miles. After that, you don't have to baby it as much as you should up until then.
Some things I noticed:
1. Even at WOT, the sound of the electric motor wasn't as loud as I expected. It makes me wonder if other reviewers may be putting a microphone somewhere special to record the sound. I have a couple of other theories, though, that I'll test and update this page if my opinion on the loudness of the electric motor changes.
2. When driving normally, I don't hear the electric motor at all, but the extra torque it provides is noticeable (and appreciated).
3. You can see the Hybrid Battery (eAWD) was being depleted quickly at WOT and then recharging when I let off the gas pedal. I did not apply the brake at all during the video or use the Charge+ feature, but that would have recharged it much more quickly.
4. The 12-volt Battery Voltage gauge has been so consistently at 13.3 with this lithium-ion battery that I don't even bother to look at it anymore, whereas in my Stingray, it fluctuated a lot (normal, I believe, for that lead-acid battery charging system).
