Here's a video I made with the delivery of 2025 ERay VIN 00003 to a customer who flew up from Florida. I got to compare the exhaust notes of the ERay and Z06 at idle, and you can listen for yourself, but it's clear to me that the ERay sounds better! I find that interesting because so many people buy Z06s for the exhaust sound. They really scream at higher RPMs, and that's great, but I spend more time at idle than at 6000 RPM. Besides, I really like the old-school "American muscle" sound of the ERay's (and Stingray's) LT2 V-8 engine.

That buyer waited outside in cold, snowy January weather in the same line I did 20 months ago to place his deposit. He was #68, and he sold his C8 Z06 to buy the ERay in the video.
October 15, 2024 Update:
This morning, it was announced that the top speed of the C8 Corvette ZR1 (pictured at the top of this page) is 233 mph!
And it was proven by GM president Mark Reuss instead of a professional driver, although a few GM engineers achieved similar results. The record runs also had a passenger on board (extra weight) who was analyzing real time data.
This testing was done on a high-speed oval track at ATP Automotive Testing Papenburg GmbH, a banked 7.6-mile test track in Germany, and it was driven in both directions to compensate for changing conditions. Both runs topped 233 mph, which was achieved at redline in sixth gear on the standard chassis with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, and without the ZTK downforce package, which would add extra drag.
I believe that makes the upcoming C8 Corvette ZR1 the fastest production car built anywhere in the world... certainly for the price of a Corvette. Amazing! To be fair, the price for a ZR1 has yet to be announced, but it'll be nowhere near as expensive as a hand-built hypercar. I'll say it again. What the Corvette engineers have achieved is truly amazing!
